January 2012 at HyLo— Rustic Lustre: A Study in Wood and Metals

Don’t miss out on the last four days of this hyperlocal shopping experience! Immerse yourself in the brilliance of this month’s accessories as we close upon the final days of our exhibit.

The Philadelphia designers and boutiques featured in Rustic Lustre combine earthy elements, shapes and tones with an industrial sheen. Vintage and brand-new alike, there’s a glimmer of something for everyone.

Fabric Row designer Chelsea Pearce finds inspiration in the beauty and mysticism of nature. In her Moon & Arrow collection she fashions necklaces from rough minerals and delicate golden reeds. Pearce’s necklaces have a natural movement in the way they hang and reflect a subtle gleam.

For sheer glam, check out Fabric Row staple Wilbur Vintage. Daniel Wilbur chooses pieces for their history and intricacy, drawn to the way they reflect the character of eras gone by. His lavish vintage gold necklaces are especially alluring mixed with basic blacks and browns.

Michelle Price’s designs for her M. Brûlée line have a similarly decadent vibe. She mixes opposing elements in her Loft District studio to create luxurious statement pieces. Her cuff bracelets feature rich leather embellished with chains, feathers and hammered gold.

Fishtown’s darlings Margaux and Walter Kent – a.k.a. Peg and Awl – sculpt salvaged wood and leather into swanky artisan housewares. From sturdy wooden desk caddies to classic chalkboard tablets, every product blends history and function to enhance your home and life.

Come experience Rustic Lustre for a glossy twist on rugged textures, and add a hint of shimmer to your winter look.
